At the turn of the 18th to the 19th centuries, Count Francis Vojkfy married a member of the Sermage family from the Holy Cross of the Conception, thereby becoming the owner of the court and estate. According to his knowledge, he was a very engaged businessman and enterprising man. He took great steps in the court, constructing the south wing of the castle and the tower and the outbuildings. Of particular interest is the construction of a grain storage and drying building, popularly called the Granary.

It was built in 1796 and was constructed so that air was flowing through it throughout the year without any special ventilation. In 1998, thanks to the involvement of the Municipality of Sveti Križ Začretje and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, the Granary was reconstructed and saved from decay. On Municipal Day, September 14, 2000, a building for visitors was inaugurated. On the ground floor of the Granary there are exhibitions of the ethnographic group Zvirek: From Hemp to Folk Costume, My Grandmother’s Hut and Christmas, featuring works that Ivan Lovrenčić donated to his place (16 paintings, 30 drawings, 53 prints). In 2002, a piano was purchased for the Ivan Lovrencic Gallery, thus enabling concerts to be performed in this space.

We will mention only some of the more significant performances: concerts by Vladimir and Katarina Krpan, Branko Sepčić, Zagreb Quartet, Zagreb Guitar Trio, Lidija Bajuk, String Quintet “Allegro Luna”, Ida Gamulin, duet Balyk, students of Music Academy from Zagreb, Music School from Krapina , Ivana Kladarin, recital of the poetry of Dobriša Cesarić on the 100th anniversary of the poet’s birth, promotion of the monograph “Ivan Lovrenčić”, promotion of the book “The Life and Literary Work of I. Krizmanić” and collection of poems by M. Lovrenčić
